Manufactured from 1877 to 1891. The top of the barrel rib is marked with the two line address/patent dates. The matching serial number appears on the butt, cylinder, latch and barrel. Pinned front sight and notch rear sight on the latch. Nickel finish with casehardened hammer. The revolver is fitted with rare dark red mottled grips featuring the early production plain "S&W." imprint at the top. The right grip panel is numbered to the gun. The revolver has the correct factory box and bore brush.

Condition: Excellent. The revolver retains 98% original nickel finish showing only slight collector type handling marks. The hammer retains nearly all of its brilliant bright and vivid case colors. Screw heads show handsome flashes of their original niter blue finish. The grips are excellent with crisp checkering and a very attractive color scheme. Mechanically excellent. Box is very good as repaired with the interior lined with a clear glue. Most of the end label remains.
