Produced from 1955 to 1964, the Model 58 was the first Remington semi-auto to move away from Browning's recoil-driven design, instead using gas operation. Barrel has ventilated ribe with brass front and nickel mid beads, with "FULL" marked choke and 2 3/4" chamber. Both sides of the frame are roll engraved, with a pair of bird dogs flushing a group of 3 birds in a grassland scene on the left, a group of three ducks in flight over a lakeside on the right, and "TB" on the underside. Fitted with an extra fancy walnut stock, with the adjustable gas port integrated into the magazine cap, diamond pattern skip-line checkering on the forearm, checkering on the pistol grip, Remington grip cap with Fleur-de-Lis accents, 14 1/4 inch pull, and a vented Pachmayr recoil pad.
BBL: 30 inch ventilated rib

Serial Number: 179248V
Condition: Near new, showing only a very few scratches on the trigger guard assembly next to the loading gate, and some spots of varnish loss on the stock, otherwise this wood is simply magnificent. It is extremely hard to write that this shotgun has any blemishes as normally it would rate almost new, however the James Tipton Collection has raised the bar as far as condition. Nonetheless a fantastic shotgun. Mechanically excellent. From the James Tipton Collection.
