Outstanding Pre-War Winchester Model 61 Slide Action Rifle
Manufactured in 1934. This rifle features a fixed blade front sight with bead and an adjustable rear sight. Standard barrel markings with the Winchester proof on the top of the barrel at the breech and on the receiver. The rifle has a 3/4 length magazine tube. Mounted with a 11 groove, flat bottom forearm and smooth pistol grip stock with a checkered metal buttplate. The bottom of the receiver is marked with the serial number as is the trigger guard plate.

Condition: Excellent. The rifle retains 90% of its original blue finish with minor thinning on the top of the receiver and small isolated areas of oxidation on the barrel just above the rear sight and on the lower left portion of the receiver. The magazine tube has moderate flaking of the finish. The wood is very fine with minor scratches in the forearm and areas of touch up in the varnish on the stock, and minor dents, dings and light scratches overall. The markings remain crisp and clear. Mechanically excellent.
