Manufactured from the late 1830s to the 1850s. The face of the barrel cluster is marked "R-C." Matching serial number on frame, face of the barrel cluster and the head of the barrel cluster screw. High polish blue finish on the open scroll engraved frame and 5-shot fluted barrel and fitted with bag shaped high gloss piano finished grips featuring German silver screw escutcheons. The pistol is in a partitioned wooden case lined in red velvet holding the following accessories: brass powder flask, cast lead balls, two cavity bullet mold, iron loading/cleaning rod with mushroom head and case key.

Condition: Excellent. The barrel cluster has a smooth dull blue-gray patina with 85% original blue finish remaining. The frame retains 50% original bright blue finish with the balance a smooth brown patina. The grips are excellent with a few scattered mild handling marks. The engraving is clear and crisp. Action needs work. With the exception of two minor cracks on the lid, the case is very fine with some minor scattered dings and scratches. The lining is fine with some minor wear.
