Ornately silver inlaid Over-Under swivel breech Kentucky rifle signed “John McCammant” and dated 1832 on silver plaque inlaid into breech end of BBL. The rifle measures 56” overall with a 39-1/2” in approx 36 cal (both BBL’s rifled). The rifle shows a beautiful engraved and pierced patchbox that measures 10” from tip to end secured by 10 screws and many pins. The stock shows 20 engraved silver plaques and inlays. There are several very large plaque type inlays on left side engraved with florals and birds. The metal is in very good condition and the stock shows restoration and small wood replacement at the forward 3” of fore stock. Therestoration is neat and expertly done. As fine a swivel breech as we have seen on the collectors market. Est.; $20,000-$40,000.
