Ornate and high quality mid-eastern dagger with original scabbard, marine ivory grip, 11-3/4" spearpoint blade showing gold inlays on each side, with writing or calligraphy which appears to be different verses on eachside of the blade. The scabbard shows fine and heavy silver mounts that are beautifully decorated using a hand hammered and chased method. The top front of scabbard shows a Persian type lion entering a castle, stand of arms, the tip shows florals and cornucopia. The reverse of the throat shows mid-eastern buildings with crescent moons and flags. The balance of the decoration on throat and tip resemble the front. The wood body of thescabbard shows some of its stained velveteen cover. The condition is good to very good overall and would date this piece 1800-1880. This is a very fine dagger that was the property of a personage of importance or anoble. Est.: $1,750-$3,500

Little John's will pay for packing and materials. Buyer pays actual costs of shipping and insurance. All International purchases will be sent to an exporter for shipment to foreign countries. International buyers agree to pay all cost incurred including all shipping, insurance, exporter fees, all custom and duty fees associated with shipment. Post 1898 firearms must be shipped to a Federal Firearms Licensee in your place of residence. All Federal, State and Local Regulations apply and MUST be strictly followed.
