Ornate Dutch powder-tester, cast-brass body, ivory grip. Engraved “Oranien Getrov. Tot Der Doot.” Opposite shows maker’s name ”Maestreck”. The ornate powder tester is approx. 8-1/4” overall with 5” cast brassbody that shows traces of silver plating. The wheel is nicely hand engraved. A naked man acts as the tension spring and lock. An engraved fish holds the wheel. The grip is of an ivory tusk end and may be whale toothshowing good patina. There are stamped maker’s cartouches on the left side of the body.
