Original pin-fire sword pistol circa mid 19th century showing “H. G. F.” with crown proof and Belgium proof on cylinder, serial #59. The saber is Germanic in style with a large four branch iron guard thru which a triggerand hammer extend. The grip is of a darkened hardwood with simple checkering. The arm measures 40-1/4” overall with 34” blade. The pistol portion shows a 3-1/2” barrel is 6-1/2” overall and is approx 9mm pin-firewith a 6 shot cylinder and there is a simple extractor mounted beneath barrel which pushes spent shells backwards thru groove in frame which doubles as loading area and there is a simple gate. The barrel shows a small “G”proof and there is a “V” and crown on cyl also. The blade is lightly engraved and in near fine condition showing most of its bright polish. The original scabbard and mounts show some light to moderate pitting,just normal aging. The grips are good, the action is good and all small parts are retained. An original combination weapon in exceptional condition. From an old New York collector’s estate. Est.; $2,000-$4,000.
