Original patent drawing for E. T. Starr number 42698, patented May 10th 1864. Shows Starr four-barrel derringer and listed as “revolver” due to revolving firing pin. The drawing measures 14” by approx. 8-1/2”. On an oil-skin type paper, drawn with ink. Shows witnesses W. S. Patridge, Daniel Robertson, inventor Everett Starr. Provenance: Bill Williamson Collection, who purchased the original Colt patent papers and other papersrelating to historical American arms and bowie knives when sold by the U.
