Original oil painting on canvas of mallard ducks signed lower left Harry Curieux Adamson measuring approximately 36” x 24”. H.C. Adamson was born in 1916 and is possibly the oldest active wildlife painter. Thispremier wildlife artist was described by noted artist David Maas as “Unsurpassed” and Owen Gromme describes him as simply “One of the finest waterfowl artists in the world”. His work was a favorite of Robert Petersenwho could not find very many of his works ever offered for sale on the auction market. In more than 40 years of collecting and with an unlimited checkbook Petersen was only able to purchase 3 works by this artist who hasfetched nearly $50,000 for his paintings.
