Original oil painting on board signed lower left “T Willis 1885”. The painting measures 29-1/4” by 45-1/2” and portrays a ship wreck with men adrift in the sea. The painting has some cracking and shows some losses alongthe bottom edge primarily and needs restoration. The painting is well executed and nicely framed. The frame shows age, small losses also needing minor restoration. Thomas Willis was born in Connecticut in 1850 and was well known for his paintings of ships under sail. His work is displayed in the Mariners museum, the Mystic Seaport Museum and the Peabody Museum. Est.;$1,500-$3,000.

Buyer pays actual costs of packing, materials, shipping and insurance. All International purchases will be sent to an exporter for shipment to foreign countries.
