Original oil on canvas signed lower right “Harvey Johnson” 18 x 24 showing pioneers headed west in a canastoga wagon pulled by ox. The painting is dated 1963 beneath the signature. Harvey Johnson 1921-2005 was acharter member of cowboy artists of America and served as their vice president and president. He won many awards and medals and his works hang in the governor’s office in Arizona, the American Embassy in Paris andhis well known work of stage robbers hangs in city council chambers in Albuquerque. His paintings are on permanent exhibition at the Cowboy Artists Museum in Kerrville, TX. Est.;$2,500-$5,000.
