Original and near mint 1860 Army Thuer .44 cal., nickel with gold washed cylinder, varnished wood grips, serial #176634. This exact pistol is pictured full page in "Colt Pistols" by Wilson, featuring the collectionof R. F. Hable on page 139; and also pictured "A History of The Colt Revolver" by Charles T. Haven and Frank A. Beldon printed in 1940. The pistol retains 95%+ original satin nickel finish with just a slight lost due topeeling at the muzzle. The cylinder shows all of its original cylinder scene with traces of a light gold wash. The markings are sharp, the edges are crisp, the varnished wood grips are excellent retaining at least95% varnish, some minor scratches. The barrel shows the large cutout on right side for Thuer loading, the rammer face is tapped for Thuer tool, the Thuer ring is absolutely original with correct engraved E, milledthumb piece and original springs. The hammer also shows the proper insert for reinforcement. The ring is not patent marked, all matching visible serial numbers are crisp and near excellent overall with a
