For your consideration is an original, framed watercolor painting of a western cowboy by Curtis Winoate, 1975. Curtis Winoate (1926-1982) was born in Denison, Texas but lived most of his life in Arizona. He was an active bronco rider in rodeos, and served in the U.S. Military. Curtis Wingate studied with renowned western and landscape artist William Schimmel for the proper use of watercolors. He was also encouraged and mentored by Cowboy Artists of America founders John Wade Hampton and George Phippen. Curtis would become an Associate Member of the Cowboy Artists of America organization. Wingate’s work has been widely collected in Arizona and is featured in a number of corporate collections. This original work of art shows a cowboy on his horse standing at a gate waiting for a herd of cows about to be led through the gate by wranglers. This piece shows wonderful color and detail of the Western landscape and the subjects depicted in the painting. This piece shows the artist signature and mark in the lower left corner, along with a copyright of '75. It has been expertly framed, and the visible art measures 12" x 16" with the frame measuring 22" x 25.75"
