Original Wells Fargo marked Ithaca 10ga double-barrel exposed hammer shotgun, serial #185458. With factory 24” barrels. Left side of frame shows “W. F. & CO. EX P. 444” Originally sold by Sotheby Parke Bernet,September 1973, Gerald Fox Collection, lot 688. With original receipt and factory letter identifying this gun as one of the first 30 sold by Ithaca in 1909 to Wells Fargo. The gun remains in good original condition with30-50% original brown and case hardening going to a natural patina with slight erosion and normal aging. The stocks show damage and repair where the wood meets the top of the action and carry and use. The originalbuttplate is retained. The forend shows cracks, losses of wood at the edge, dents from carry and use. The action is good, the bore is very good. An impeccably documented Wells Fargo marked shotgun with superbdocumentation.
