Original Sharps Model 1874 Sporting rifle, .40 cal., 2-5/8” 28” extra heavy barrel, blue and case hardened finish, wood stocks, checkered steel butt plate, #157594 on receiver and on the underside of the barrel(underside of barrel also has special feature numbers “6”, “16” & “10” stamped on the bottom flat with the matching serial number). This gun is in overall excellent condition showing approx. 97% original blue finish onthe barrel and approx. 75% original case colors on the receiver, double set triggers, “Old Reliable” marked Bridgeport barrel, Lawrence ladder rear sight, standard fixed front sight adjustable period flip up tangsight; the bore is excellent, the action, crisp, double set triggers are working at time of description, wood stocks are overall fine with some scattered minor mars from storage and a slight line of darkening of the wood around the steel butt plate; accompanied by a factory letter dated October 27, 1995 from Dr. Moore indicating rifle invoiced April 8, 1878 to Spies Kissam & Co., New York City as a Heavy Sporting Octagon

We are open Tuesday thru Friday 10:00 am to 5:00 pm and Saturday 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. Little John's will be closed the Friday after the auction. Preview on October 27th 7 28th 9:00 to 11:00 am each day.

Little John's will pay for packing and materials. Buyer pays actual costs of shipping and insurance. All International purchases will be sent to an exporter for shipment to foreign countries. International buyers agree to pay all cost incurred including all shipping, insurance, exporter fees, all custom and duty fees associated with shipment. Post 1898 firearms must be shipped to a Federal Firearms Licensee in your place of residence. All Federal, State and Local Regulations apply and MUST be strictly followed.
