Original Republic of Texas Certificate for services in the "Texian Army", entitling one James L. Cobb a total of $113.50 for services in the army, dated January 6, 1837, approx. 4" x 7" in overall good condition with somediscoloration on the left side of the document but all readable; slight loss of top layer of paper of small section of upper right corner; endorsed by Cobb on the reverse: "I assign the within to James D.Owen". A rare piece of early Texas history, particularly considering this document was issued less than a year after the 13-day battle of the Alamo! Est.: $400-$800.
