Featured in this lot we have a original G. C. Wentworth wax sculpture titled "Jim Bridger". Gerry Wentworth was a Great Falls, Montana artist who grew up in the era just after Charles Russell's life. He was largely self taught and spent the majority of his life working in painting, sculpture and wood carving. Wentworth's works have been widely exhibited in such places as the C.M. Russell Show, the Phippen Art Show and the Frank Tenney Johnson Show. In 1981, he won Best of Show at the Northwest Americana Art Show. The sculpture shows Jim Bridger waving the all clear while seated on the back of a beautiful horse. The sculpture shows wonderful detail and artistic ability. The wax sculpture shows good condition and measures 16" tall by 13 1/4" long and 5 3/4" wide. The wax sculpture comes with a Certificate of Authenticity which grants the right of the new owner to have it cast if they so choose. Also, a printed biography of the artist in included.
