Original 3” ordinance rifle or cannon marked “Patented, December 9, 1862” on left trunion and “Phoenix Ironwork” on right trunion. The muzzle is numbered 561 with “T. T. S. I.” marking and 816 pounds along with “Phoenix Iron Company” markingand “1863” date. The hubs are marked “U.S.” with number “33” and “International Harvester Company, Chicago, Illinois”. The front metal strap on side pieces are marked on right “U.S. Waterfliet Arsenal” and the left marked number “466” and“1862” date. The condition is good overall showing some pitting in the metal and exposure to the carriage with just natural aging. Acquired by Bill Gary from the Joe Bates collection in Texas.
