This is an original Currier & Ives hand tinted lithograph titled "A Home in the Wilderness" from 1870. Nathaniel Currier and James Merritt Ives were founders of the successful printmaking firm in New York City from 1857-1907 called The Grand Central Depot for Cheap and Popular Prints. Their lithographs have endured the times and are highly sought after in today's collectible markets. This piece shows a family returning to their homestead after a successful deer hunt. The bottom left corner is marked "Published by Currier & Ives" and the bottom right corner is marked "125 Nassau St. New York". The bottom of the lithograph reads "A Home in the Wilderness". The piece has been professionally framed. The Currier & Ives lithograph is in good condition. The frame measures 14.5" x 18.75".
