Older Japanese Imari war bowl, approx. 10” in diameter and approx. 4” in height in overall good condition at the time of description; shows designs of flowers, dragons, landscapes and pagoda with mon (signature) at bottom of bowl in shape of a Chrysanthemum flower. May be a real sleeper as consignor has included copy of a note dated 1981 from Bernard Hurtig’s Oriental Treasures and Points West, indicating this piece to becirca 1860 with a noted selling price at the time of $4,700 indicating the mon was of the royal household.
