This particular woodsman Target was an Official Colt Show Gun. The pistol is accompanied by a Colt Office of the Historian letter titled "Colt 1986 Las Vegas Factory Firearms Auction" which states "Colt Firearms will auction twelve firearms in conjunction with the 1986 Sahara Collectors Show on February 8, 1986. This particular pistol is number 8 under "Factory Show Guns, Prototypes, And Engraved Models". The Accompanying factory letter is headed "Colt 1986 Las Vegas Factory Firearms Auction Official Colt show Gun and verifies serial number 067811S as a Model S1161-Woodsman Target, 22 LR caliber, 6" barrel, blue finish, wood grips and that it was sent to an individual in Tacoma, Washington on March 27, 1986. Remarks state "This Woodsman was used by Colt firearms as an official display model at various trade shows, exhibitions, etc." and states the successful bidder. The left side of the barrel is marked with the one line address, The left side of the frame is marked with the Rampant Colt over "WOODSMAN", the serial number is on the right side of the frame and the left side of the slide is marked "COLT" followed by the two line caliber designation. Raised ramp front blade sight, adjustable rear target sight, smooth trigger and fitted with walnut grips with checkered panels and right hand thumb rest. Complete with the original colt "wood grain" box numbered to the gun with Colt Custom Gun Shop end label marked "(Colt Show Gun)", and shipping box.

Condition: Excellent. The pistol retains 99% plus original blue finish with some very slight wear on the right side of the muzzle and a few scattered minor handling/storage marks. The grips are excellent with a few minor dings and sharp checkering.The markings are crisp and clear. The action is excellent. The boxes are excellent.
