Niihau Shell Lei. Authenticated. Momi Kua'ula grooved "dove" shells that are off white in color. At times with light brown streaks and blotches. 3 strands measuring 40 inches including the clasp. Sewn in the Pikake (Jasmine flower) lei style. Clasp is a traditional white Bumpy or Granulated Cowry 1 and 1/4 inch (Poleholeho 'apu'upu'u) surrounded with 2 Puka shells - naturally worn cone shell bottoms with convenient holes on each side of the cowry. Assessed characteristics: Good shell selection in size, color, and synchronized placement, lending to appropriate fluidity and flexibility. Excellent overall luster. Note: Lei has been repaired.
