Manufactured in 1909. The top of the barrel is marked with the one line address, the left side "38 W.C.F." and the left side of the frame is marked with the two line, three patent dates followed by the circled Rampant Colt. The matching serial number is marked on the bottom of the frame, trigger guard and back strap, with the assembly number "4077" on the loading gate. The upper left front of the trigger guard is marked with the Colt triangle "VP" proofmark, with the number "6" at the rear. Standard blade front and frame notch sights and fitted with two piece checkered hard rubber grips with the Rampant Colt in an oval at the top. The inside of the right panel has three names scratched into it and the left has "679". The accompanying factory letter verifies the serial number, 38/40 caliber, barrel length, blue finish with grips as "Not Listed" and that it was shipped as 1 of 2 to Stauffer Eshleman Hardware Company, New Orleans, Louisiana on March 9, 1909.

Condition: Good. The metal surfaces have a mottled gray patina with some minor pitting on the ahead of and above the cylinder. There are traces of original blue finish in the cylinder flutes. The grips are also good showing overall moderate wear, a minor chip on the left heel, a few minor dings and crisp checkering. The markings are clear. The action is fine.
