Near mint late flintlock trade gun marked Barnett 1867 on rear of lock, brass serpentine sideplate, iron triggerguard, showing fox and tombstone with “RB” marking on center portion of lock, top of barrel,British proofs, and “J.E.B.” with proof at breech. The stock is in incredibly good condition showing a beautiful cartouche near the buttplate in the wood of fox. The gun shows a patina finish, some just beginningaging. The wood is near excellent. An original type ramrod remains. The action is crisp, the arm shows little to no use- just some storage and is as fine of condition as we have seen in this period trade musket. These arms were extensively traded by the Hudson Bay company and others in the American Northwest and Canada.
