This is a later production Mauser P08 Luger pistol as manufactured in 1937. The top of the chamber is dated "1937" and the front toggle has the wartime code of "S/42" for the Mauser factory at Oberndorf. The right side of the barrel extension has two early stick wing eagle/63 Waffenamt proofs next to the single eagle firing proof. There is a eagle/63 proof also marked on the front top of the barrel. Visible numbers match. The right grip panel is un-numbered, the left is marked "06" and the phosphate, aluminum based replacement postwar magazine is un-numbered. It has the standard extractor and safety markings. Rust blue finish on all the metal surfaces, correctly including the small parts. Fitted with a set of checkered walnut grips. Complete with a leather Genschow & Co., Berlin 1937 dated flap holster

Condition: Very fine. The pistol retains 80% plus original blue finish with some minor muzzle wear, a few very small areas of minor pitting on the barrel. There is some minor high edge wear and the grip straps are thinning to a smooth gray. The grips are good overall. The right panel shows a few minor dings and most of the checkering is crisp. The left panel shows a few minor dings and crisp checkering. The markings are clear. Mechanically excellent. The holster is good with some flex cracking, a few moderate scuffs, the belt loops are replacements and the stitching remains tight.
