This is a signed Navajo Native American Indian sterling silver and turquoise bear claw squash blossom made by Julia Etsitty. The naja features two opposing bear claws flanked on each side by five silver capped bear claw blossoms. Each of the bear claws is set with a pair of Sleeping Beauty Turquoise cabochons that show a deep, rich blue color and sharply contrasting matrix. The back of the naja is signed "Julia Etsitty" and is marked "Sterling". Julia Etsitty was a renowned Navajo silversmith who created jewelry during a time when very few women were doing so. These few women were greatly revered by the Navajo Nation at the time. This squash blossom is in good condition. It measures 26.75" long. The naja measures 2.25" x 2.25".
