This lot features a Navajo Native American Yei or Yeibichai pattern rug. The Yei Navajo rugs begin in the Northwest corner of the reservation, in the early part of the 20 century. Yei are religious deities taken from the Navajo Sand paintings. But these weavings do not have any religious significance. This mid 1900's rug is believed to be made of wool. It has four female Yei pictorial figures. The rug has a blue and black border with multicolored figures in vibrant dyes. It is in good condition for its age. It measures 31" W x 32" L.
