Made for legendary roper, Montie Montana (1910-1999) these nickel plated Kelly Pat No 202 cutting horse spurs were mounted in the 1950s by Edw H Bohlin of Hollywood with intricately engraved sterling overlay, adorned with Montie’s raised MM brand. 2 1/2” raised shank, 20 pt, 1 1/4” plated rowels, swinging buttons. Bohlin marked, floral carved leathers affixed via 3-piece, half-inch sterling Bohlinmade buckle sets with Montie’s initials engraved in a diamond. Fine condition SOLD: Butterfield’s Montie Montana Sale, February 28, 2000, lot #3250 Star of stage and rodeo, Montie rode in 60 consecutive Rose Parades yet is best known for roping President Eisenhower at the 1953 Inaugural in Washington, DC. Montie even rode his horse on top of the Empire State Building in NYC, and received hundreds of awards and honors during his extraordinary career.
