Modernist sketch on paper, approx. 13-1/2” by 16-1/4”, signed lower right Lebrun. Shows title “Turning Turtle” and signed Lebrun 1950. The edges of the paper show some slight deterioration and some acid staining. RicoLebrun (1900 – 1964) was born in Italy, emigrated to the United States in 1922 where he taught at the Art Student’s League until 1938 when he settled in California and taught at the Chouinard Art Institute in LosAngeles. In 1952 and 53 he visited Mexico and was influenced by the Mexican Masters, 1958 he worked with Joseph Albers at Yale University. Consigned from a local estate. Est: $300- $600
