Model 1879 U.S. Trapdoor Cadet rifle, .45-70 cal., 29-1/2” barrel, blue and case hardened finish, wood stock, leather sling, iron ramrod, #234682 in overall very good condition showing plum brown patina to barrel, silvery toning and hints of case to “trapdoor” and lockplate, sharp markings, crisp action, very good bore with a couple spots of pitting; good to very good wood with scattered mars and scratches from carry and storage; per Flayderman’s approx. 5,000 Cadet rifles producedin this Model.
