Model 1870 Springfield Trapdoor Rifle w/Bayonet and Scabbard 50 caliber, 32.5" round barrel, S/N 26893. Bright finish with case hardened lockplate, wood stock, leather sling. Accompanied by a socket bayonet and leather scabbard with brass tip and leather hanger stamped with two undecipherable cartouches. Hanger attached via eight copper rivets. Condition: This rifle is in overall very good condition showing a light grey patina to barrel and receiver and a substantial amount of original case color to the lockplate. The action and markings are crisp, the bore is good and the wood stock is overall very good with three "ESA" inspectors' cartouches and one other cartouche visible on the left side of the stock above the trigger group. There is also a "E G 5" stamped on the top of the buttstock comb near the buttplate. There are some scattered old mars and dings also present from carry and storage. The sling is in fair to good condition. The bayonet is also good and the scabbard good overall with some general crazing to the top layer of the
