Model 1842 Springfield, .69 caliber smoothbore musket, dated 1846. 42” barrel. Good condition with all features as standard on this model. Metal surfaces show a light patina finish with light to slightly heavyscattered pitting and erosion with the heavier pitting occurring at the firing areas and breech. The lock markings are good. The eagle mostly visible. The stock shows a outline of inspector’s cartouche andsoldier’s ID engraved in three initials, the last of which is “H”. The stock is good overall with normal dings, wear, scratches, small losses, dents. The ramrod is a replacement. Action is good, generally goodoverall. Est: $600 - $1,200
