This lot contains a Middle Eastern short sword, with ancient Roman inspiration. The sword utilizes a 17 1/2" blade, with full double fuller on each side, and a straight double edged blade. The hilt of the sword shows a full-straight cross guard, with high turned ends on each side. The handle has an early red cloth wrap, with twisted silver strand holding it tightly in place. The handle is finished with a cast, ball end pommel. The sword is housed in a blonde, wooden scabbard, that at one time appeared to have been fully wrapped in leather. The scabbard shows a prominent decorative blue stone, and bass colored rivets, holding on the remaining leather. The sword is in fair condition, it shows heavy patina. The sword, when inserted into its scabbard, measures; 27" long, 4 1/4" wide at the cross guard, and 1 5/8" thick at the opening of the scabbard.
