Mid-eastern sword with gold inlaid grip, mounts and blade, circa 18th to 19th century, approximately 30" overall with 25" medium weight blade; the left side of the blade shows 3 characters which is probably themakers mark; there is a long inscription on the right top of the blade, could be the owner or a prayer. The blade shows forging in the steel, but no patterning or watering. The original scabbard shows fancy goldscroll work, matching to the hilt and guard, the grip shows some pitting and small losses of gold; the velvet covered scabbard shows some small tears, a woven fabric hanger is included. A genuine antique that is morethan 100 years old; could be made anywhere from Greece to Lebanon by the styling. Est.: $2,000-$4,000
