Mid-Century Lanshire Vomit Clock, Native American
For your consideration is a Mid-century Lanshire Vomit Clock, Native American Stone Artifacts Custom Made Clock. This piece of "vomit art", or resin inclusion piece, was a popular mid-century home décor item. A mid-century trend where it was fashionable to suspend pieces of rocks and glass in color resin, often made into mantlepiece clocks. The result looks like regurgitated gelatin salad full of fruit bits. The sculptures can range from clocks to small animals (usually with googly eyes adhered to their faces) to ashtrays. Nothing was left sacred in the resin sculpture era. While the adoration of the artwork is due to the items’ uniqueness, it is also partly a morbid fascination with their strange appearance. Resin art is appearing to be making a gradual comeback. In part, due to the mid-century influence of popular décor and partly due to the internet. The resin inclusion pieces are native american artifacts of points more clearly visible on the reverse side. The classic clock mold makes this a definite table or mantle piece décor. The vomit clock is in good overall visible condition, unknown if clock mechanism functions. Measures 10.25"W x 10.25"H x 1.75"D
