Merwyn & Hulbert .44-40 caliber frontier era revolver, nickel plated, hardrubber grips, serial #23757. The revolver shows a topstrap and squared grip and Hopkins & Allen manufacturer’s marks on left side of barrelwith checkerboard pattern at top of grips. The revolver retains 60-80% original nickel, evenly drifting and toning, with some discoloration and light erosion and pinprick pitting where the nickel has lifted. Markings are good, edges are crisp, hammer and triggerguard show considerable original color. The grips are very good plus with nice patina. The action is good, bore is fair to good. The cylinder and barrel are matching to the number on the butt. Est: $2,000 - $4,000
