The revolver has the 3rd Model round barrel with top strap and full fluted cylinder and has the "Pocket Army' bird's head butt with pointed extension and lanyard hole. The hammer, trigger guard, trigger and barrel latch had a casehardened finish. The left side of the barrel is marked with the two line Hopkins and Allen address / patent dates, "CALIBRE / WINCHESTER 1873" is located on the left side of the frame below the cylinder and "MERWIN HULBERT & CO. N.Y. / POCKET ARMY" is stamped on the right side of the frame below the cylinder. The serial number is stamped on the right side of the grip extension. The revolver is fitted with smooth pearl grips.

Condition: Very fine. The revolver retains 75% of the original nickel finish with scattered minor flaking and some "blistering" of the finish on the frame. The exposed areas have a dark patina. The remaining parts have a smooth mottled gray patina with some of the original casehardening pattern remaining. The grips are also very fine with a minor crack on the the left toe and minor handling marks. The markings remain clear. The action is fine.
