Merwin Hulbert & Co. Medium Frame Double Action Revolver with Scarce Seven Shot Cylinder and Blue Finish

Manufactured in the 1880s, this is a scarce variation of the Merwin Hulbert & Co. medium frame double action revolver with a seven shot cylinder, blue finish and flat butt. The standard variation has a five shot cylinder and nickel finish with flat or bird's head butts. The top of the solid barrel rib is marked with the two line address/patent dates (1877-1893). The left side of the frame under the cylinder is marked "32 CAL, 7 SHOT." The hammer has a folding spur which is marked with the 1885 patent date. The butt is marked with the serial number "116501" (the first 1 is lightly struck) and has a lanyard ring. The partial serial number "16501" is marked on the rear cylinder face and the rear of the barrel lug.
