Merkel high-grade over/under 410ga two-barrel set. 28” barrels, #1 choked Improved Modified over Modified, barrel #2 choked Improved Modified over Improved Cylinder, ventilated ribs, single trigger, autoejector, highly engraved actions in game scenes with sideplates, cocking indicators, select checkered walnut stocks, European type sling swivels, pistol gripped with monte-carlo type cheek piece, splinterforend. Serial #58324 showing Gerbruder Merkel markings and proofed for full-length shells. Postwar Suhl proofs. The set remains in near fine condition with 96-99% original blue, some slight toning to the satinfinished frame, near excellent wood, shows just minor use and slight storage. The bores are a little dirty but will clean to excellent. Two-barrel Merkel 410s in high grades are almost non-existent and seldomseen offered for sale. From the Robert Petersen Collection.
