Included for you in this lot is a piece of fine pottery originating from Montana, and hand crafted and carved by Hamilton, Montana Native - Melora Neaves. The vase shows an exceptional hand carved band, in the form of basket weave texture. The vase is finished with Terra Sigillata - giving it a soft, polished sheen. Meloras pieces remain unglazed, instead the rich finish comes from intensive burnishing with a polishing stone, than fired at low temperature. Melora has been crafting pottery since childhood, eventually to receive an associates art degree at Mountain College, in Leadville, CO. In 1991 Neaves became a full time studio potter - Her works can be found in galleries across the Northwest region. The piece shows good condition. The vase measures 6 1/4" wide, and 4 1/2" tall.
