Meacham-style conversion of a Sharps single shot rifle, .45 cal., 30” octagon barrel with “Old Reliable” marking and “Sharps Rifle Co., Bridgeport, Conn.” markings near the breech, single trigger with “poor man’s” settrigger screw beneath lockplate; wood stocks, #C43835. This gun is in overall good condition showing a brown patina on the barrel and silvery toning to the case colors of the receiver; strong rifling in thebarrel, good action and markings; underside of the barrel is stamped “6”; buttstock is overall good and shows saddle ring bar of a carbine stock with an old well-done repair to the top front of the comb; Lawrence ladderrear sight and old copper blade front sight; just the type of frontier gunsmith conversion that would have been made in the West and used to put meat on the family table; from an old collection.
