Mauser Turkish Police Luger, #166v, 9mm, 4'' barrel, blue finish with straw small parts, factory checkered walnut grips, and blued-over tin-plated magazine with matching aluminum base. Intertwined ''TC'' logo to chamber area, Mauser Banner to central toggle link, extractor marked ''ates'', right side of upper receiver and thumb safety marked ''Emniyet'', ''Islerl/Umem Mudurlugu'' also on upper receiver right side (translates to Security Police Headquarters); ''(eagle)/63'' military acceptance stamps, and ''(crown)/U'' Mauser commercial test marks. Produced between 1934-1936, with delivered quantities somewhere between 500-1000 units. Condition is fine retaining approx. 95% blue with light thinning at muzzle, high edges, top of toggle knobs, and front and backstrap. Grips and action remain crisp, bore is good. Pistol includes German marked brown pigskin holster which remains in excellent condition showing just light general scuffing. As these Turkish Police pistols were never released from the government, very few are in private hands, and at this point less than 10 examples are known to exist. Est.: $4,500-$6,000.
