Marlin model 1897 lever-action .22 caliber rifle, special order factory engraved, 26” extra long half round half octagon barrel, half magazine, factory engraved, nickel plated, checkered deluxe wood stocks, factory shotgun style factory hard rubber buttplate showing Marlin trademark, serial #176402. The rifle remains in fine original condition showing 85-95% original blue on barrel and magazine tube, some natural toning and just beginning light erosion and normal aging. The frame and forend cap show 95-98% soft original nickel just starting to show some age at the edges, and some pinprick erosion which is miniscule just starting. The checkered wood stocks are fine to near excellent with most of their original varnish and good sharp checkering. The action is tight, the bore is excellent. The rifle shows original rear sight in factory dovetail and a large German silver knife blade in the original front factory dovetail. The action is crisp, the bore is excellent. The markings are sharp. One of the nicest 97 Marlins we have seen with rare features. Provenance: Vanderlinden Collection. Est: $10,000 - $20,000

Little John's will pay for packing and materials. Buyer pays actual costs of shipping and insurance. All International purchases will be sent to an exporter for shipment to foreign countries.
