Marlin XX standard model 1873 .22 caliber 7 shot revolver with brass frame in old original to the period handmade trunk type casing. The revolver shows 75% to 85% original nickel evenly drifting and toning with some light erosion and pinprick pitting just starting where the finish has lifted. The Rosewood grips are good to very good and fit nicely. There is some pitting on the left side of the barrel and on the front of the cylinder and the action is not working correctly. The trunk casing is covered with a course burlap over wood with leather straps and is in the style of the 1870s to 80s. This case is something that was homemade or fabricated in the bunk house and has a lot of western character. Gale Kennedy Historical West Collection. Est.: $400-$800.
