Marlin Model 1895 Lever Action Rifle in .45-90 Caliber

Manufactured in 1896. Intended to compete with the Winchester 1886, the 1895 was not a runaway success, with only around 18,000 produced, though the rugged and well designed action has found new fans among sportsmen and cowboy action shooters. German silver Rocky Mountain blade front sight and semi-buckhorn rear sight, with the 2-line Marlin address and patent dates on the top barrel flat, "45-90" behind the rear sight, "-MARLIN SAFETY-" on the top flat of the receiver and "MODEL/1895." on the upper tang. Smooth straight wrist stock, with a metal forearm tip and a smooth buttplate.

Good, showing a mixed brown patina overall, showing gray along the high edges and scattered handling marks overall. Stock is good as reoiled, with mild dents and scratches. The bolt hangs up a bit when opened, otherwise mechanically good.
