Marlin Model 1893 lever action rifle in .38-55 caliber with 28” octagon barrel, full magazine, rifle butt, serial number 145336. The metal surfaces show a light gray to brown patina finish. Cleaned long ago and nowgoing to a natural metal color. There is some minor pinprick pitting and erosion and some slight traces of silvery case hardening on the frame. The butt plate was left uncleaned and is dark brown. The markings are sharp and the edges fairly crisp. The rear sight has been changed to a Winchester carbine style and the front sight shows a large blade replacement in the original post. The stocks have been refinished and the wrist has beenrepaired. The action is good, the bore is good and may clean. Est.: $500-$1,000.
