Marlin Model 1893 Takedown Lever Action Rifle
Manufactured in 1903. Features a blade front sight and adjustable buckhorn rear sight. The top of the barrel marked "MARLIN FIRE-ARMS CO., NEW-HAVEN CT. U.S.A. / PATENTED OCT. 11,1887, APRIL 2, 1889, AUGUST 1,1893". The left barrel flat is marked "SPECIAL SMOKELESS STEEL" and the breech is marked ".30-30". The tang is marked "MODEL / 1893". "MARLIN SAFETY" is marked on top of the receiver. Casehardened receiver, hammer and lever with a blue finished barrel and full length magazine. Mounted with a smooth straight grip stock and forearm with metal forend cap and crescent buttplate.

Condition: Fine. The barrel retains at least 75% original blue finish with some mild thinning and high edge wear. The magazine retains 50% original thinning blue (mainly in protected areas), mixed with smooth gray patina. The receiver retains 20% original case colors, faded on the left side, more vivid on the right side, mixed with smooth silver gray patina. The lever retains much of the fading original case colors with the balance having a smooth silver gray. The wood is fine with a small shallow gouge and moderate chip on the left side of the wrist and overall scattered minor scuffs, dings and dents.
