Marlin Model 1881 lever action rifle, .45 Gov’t caliber (.45-70), 30” heavy octagon barrel, grey patina, wood stocks, #5180. This gun is in overall very good condition showing a brown/grey patina to metalsurfaces, very good bore, crisp action, very good markings, double set triggers, stocks show wear, a number of old repaired cracks in the butt stock and fore end with a brass starburst inlay in the right front fore end. Consignor provided the following written letter on this gun: “This rifle was acquired by Lee R. Parker on August 4, 1979. The seller was Dr. Decock of Ramona, California. According to Dr. Decock, the Marlin leveraction rifle belonged to his father or grandfather who was the doctor on an Indian Reservation.
