Marlin Model 1881 big frame lever action rifle, .40-60 cal., 30” factory extra heavy octagon barrel, brown finish, wood stocks, #4218. This gun is in overall very good condition with a brown patina on the barrelwith some spots of old erosion and pitting on the right side of the barrel and loading tube; a grey patina on the receiver with some scattered areas of pitting confined primarily to the front right side of theaction, very good bore, crisp action, very good markings, very good wood stocks with some scattered mars and scratches from storage, steel butt plate; tang drilled for vernier sight (not present) and replacedfront sight. A desirable Marlin with a seldom seen extra heavy factory barrel. Est.: $1,800-$2,800.
